Income Caste Domicile Praman Patra verification

Income, Caste & Domicile Certificate Verification

A2Z Complete Guide | Verify UP e-Sathi Certificates Online

In Uttar Pradesh, documents like the Income Certificate (Aay Praman Patra), Caste Certificate (Jati Praman Patra), and Domicile Certificate (Niwas Praman Patra) are mandatory for availing of government subsidies, the UP Scholarship scheme, and applying for government jobs. However, merely having a printed copy is not enough. Authorities strictly require an Online Verification Printout from the e-District (e-Sathi) portal. Read this complete A2Z guide to check if your certificate is officially valid and digitally recorded.

Validity Rules of Certificates

Before verifying, it is crucial to know if your certificate has expired. Government departments will reject online records if the validity period has lapsed.

Income (Aay)

An Income Certificate is valid for exactly 3 Years from the date of issuance. After 3 years, it will show "Record Not Found" or expire automatically.

Caste (Jati)

A Caste Certificate (State level) generally has Lifetime Validity, provided the government does not change the reservation category of your caste.

Domicile (Niwas)

A Domicile Certificate is usually valid for a Lifetime as long as you reside continuously at the same address mentioned in the certificate.

Details Required for Online Verification

To generate the official verification slip from the e-District portal, you need to look at the top-right corner of your printed certificate and find two crucial numbers:

  • Application Number (Avedan Kramank): A 15-digit unique number generated when the form was first applied.
  • Certificate ID (Praman Patra Kramank): A 12-digit official serial number generated by the Tehsil after the Tehsildar/SDM signs it digitally.

Are You Facing "Record Not Found" Errors?

During the peak UP Scholarship season or Government Job recruitments, the e-District server often crashes, making it impossible to download your verification slip. Furthermore, if you have lost your original certificate and only have the Application Number, you cannot retrieve it normally.

If you belong to Mainpuri or nearby areas, avoid the stress and directly visit our Avi Jan Seva Kendra (Avi CSC Point). Our expert VLE operators have direct portal access to retrieve lost certificates, resolve server issues swiftly, and provide you with high-quality, stamped verification printouts instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why does the portal say "Record Not Found"?
This error occurs for three reasons: 1) You typed the Application or Certificate number incorrectly. 2) The certificate is older than 3 years (in the case of Income certificates) and has been removed from the active database. 3) The certificate is fake.
Do I need to verify my certificate for the UP Scholarship?
Yes, absolutely. The UP Scholarship portal has an automated API that fetches your Income and Caste details directly from the e-District server. If your certificate is not verified online, your scholarship form will not proceed to the final step.
Is a State Caste Certificate valid for Central Govt Jobs?
No. The Caste Certificate generated from the UP e-District portal is valid only for State Government jobs and state schemes. For SSC, UPSC, or Railway exams, you must apply for a "Central Caste Certificate" formulated in English.
Can I download my lost certificate using only my Aadhaar Number?
No, the e-District portal does not allow you to download certificates using just an Aadhaar number. You must have either the Application Number or the Certificate ID. If you applied via a CSC, the VLE can check their portal history to retrieve it.
Are digitally signed certificates acceptable everywhere?
Yes. Certificates downloaded from the e-District portal feature a Digital Signature from the Tehsildar/SDM. As per the IT Act 2000, these are legally valid across India and do not require a physical stamp or wet signature.

Strict Fake Certificate Alert

BEWARE OF FORGERY: Many unauthorized agents provide fake, photoshopped Income or Caste certificates to students for a quick fee. If your certificate details do NOT appear on the official e-District portal during online verification, it is considered 100% FAKE. Using a fake certificate for scholarships or government jobs is a criminal offense under the IPC and will lead to immediate rustication, FIR, and a permanent ban from future government exams.
