Keep the following documents scanned and ready before applying for the Shiksha Sahayata scheme on the BOCW portal:

  • Labour Card: Registration certificate (Shramik Card) of the parent with an up-to-date renewal slip.
  • Student's Aadhaar Card: Aadhaar card of the child and the registered parent.
  • Bank Passbook: Bank account of the registered parent or the student (must be NPCI/DBT linked).
  • School Bonafide/Certificate: A certificate issued by the Principal verifying the student is currently enrolled in the school/college.
  • Previous Marksheet: Marksheet of the previously passed examination to prove academic continuity.
  • Family ID / Ration Card: Showing the relation between the child and the registered worker.

Step-by-Step Online Application Process

1

Verify Labour Card

First, check the status of your father's or mother's Labour Card online. Ensure the 'Anshdaan' (renewal fee) is paid and the card is currently active.

2

Get School Certificate

Download the standard Bonafide format from the BOCW portal, fill it, and get it stamped and signed by your school/college Principal.

3

Apply on BOCW Portal

Visit your state's BOCW website (e.g., upbocw.in for UP). Go to the 'Apply Scheme' section, enter the Labour Registration Number, and select 'Shiksha Sahayata'.

4

Submit to Labour Office

Upload all documents online. After final submission, you may need to submit a printed copy to your district's Assistant Labour Commissioner office.

Labour Card Inactive or Funds Stuck?

A huge number of Labour Card scholarship forms are rejected because the parent's Labour Card has expired (Anshdaan Jama Nahi Hai) or the bank account is not mapped with NPCI. Sometimes, the child's name is not properly added to the parent's Shramik profile.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

My father's Labour Card is expired. Can I apply?
No. You cannot apply for any scheme if the Labour Card is expired. You must first deposit the renewal fee (Anshdaan) online or via a CSC center to make the card active, and then apply.
Can I get the UP Board/State Scholarship AND the Labour Card Scholarship?
Generally, government rules dictate that a student can only avail of ONE government scholarship per academic year. If you apply for both, there is a high chance of rejection due to Aadhaar tracking. Choose the one that offers the higher benefit.
Who receives the money: the student or the parent?
Under the Labour Card Scheme, the benefit amount is usually transferred directly into the Aadhaar-seeded bank account of the Registered Worker (Parent), not the student.
What if I have 3 children?
The Shiksha Sahayata scheme is strictly limited to the first two children of the registered worker. The third child is not eligible for this educational benefit.

Strict Fraud & Scam Alert
