Who Needs to Apply? (Crucial Rule)

There is a major misconception regarding the UP Family ID. Not everyone needs to register for a new ID. Please check the criteria below carefully:

Ration Card Holders (NO Need to Apply)

If your family already has an active UP Ration Card, you do not need to register anew. The government has designated your 12-digit Ration Card number as your official Family ID. You can directly log in to print it.

Non-Ration Card Holders (MUST Apply)

Families that are ineligible for a ration card or do not currently possess one must register on the portal. You will need to add the Aadhaar details of all family members to generate a new 12-digit Family ID.

Documents Required for Registration

To generate your UP Family ID online, the Head of the Family (HOF) and all joining members must possess the following:

  • Aadhaar Card: Mandatory for all family members (Adults and Minors).
  • Aadhaar-Linked Mobile Number: Every member's Aadhaar MUST be linked to an active mobile number for OTP-based e-KYC. Without this, you cannot add a member.
  • Head of Family details: Preferably the eldest female or male member to initiate the registration.

Step-by-Step Online Registration Process

1

Portal Registration

Visit the official UP Family ID portal (familyid.up.gov.in). Click on 'New Registration'. Enter the name and Aadhaar-linked mobile number of the Head of the Family and verify via OTP.

2

Aadhaar e-KYC (HOF)

Log in with your mobile number. Enter the Head of the Family's 12-digit Aadhaar number. The system will send an OTP to the Aadhaar-linked mobile. Enter it to fetch details.

3

Add Family Members

Once the HOF is verified, click on 'Add Member'. Enter the Aadhaar number of your spouse, children, or parents one by one. You must authenticate each member via their respective Aadhaar OTPs.

4

Final Submission & Download

After all members are added and successfully verified via OTP, submit the application. Your unique 15-digit Application Number will be generated. Once verified by officials, you can download the ID card.

Aadhaar OTP Failing? Unable to Add Members?

The UP Family ID portal runs strictly on Aadhaar e-KYC. The most common issue citizens face is that the mobile numbers of their children or elderly parents are not linked to Aadhaar, making it impossible to add them to the Family ID online.

If you are stuck due to OTP issues, server errors, or confusion regarding the process, residents of Mainpuri can directly visit our Avi Jan Seva Kendra (Avi CSC Point). Our trained CSC operators will help streamline your document process, verify your Aadhaar statuses, and ensure your entire family is successfully registered under the Ek Parivar Ek Pehchan scheme without any technical headaches.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I already have a UP Ration Card. Do I need to apply?
No, you do not need to register again. Your existing 12-digit Ration Card number is automatically considered your UP Family ID. You can simply log in to the portal using your Aadhaar number to view and print your Family ID card.
What are the major benefits of the UP Family ID?
The Parivar Kalyan Card acts as a centralized database. It ensures priority access to government schemes, helps in identifying unmapped families for the "One Family, One Job" initiative, and speeds up the processing of scholarships and pensions.
Can I apply if my Aadhaar is not from Uttar Pradesh?
No. This scheme is strictly for permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh. The Aadhaar cards of the Head of the Family and all added members must have a valid UP address to pass the e-KYC verification.
My child’s Aadhaar is not linked to a mobile number. What to do?
To add a member to the Family ID, OTP authentication is absolutely mandatory. You must first visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra or a Post Office to link a mobile number to your child's Aadhaar before attempting the registration.
How long does it take for the ID to be approved?
Once you submit the application, it goes through a verification process by local authorities (Lekhpal/SDM). It typically takes 15 to 30 days for the status to change from 'Pending' to 'Approved', after which you can download the 12-digit ID card.
